Secure Access SSL VPN Receives Common Criteria Certification
Juniper Networks Secure Access became the first SSL VPN product to achieve Common Criteria Certification this week. The Common Criteria certification serves as an independent, impartial security evaluation that verifies the functional reliability and security of products and is recognized worldwide as an impartial verification of the secure nature of IT products. More than 22 countries have adopted the Common Criteria certification. Most government agencies in these and other countries are required to purchase CC certified products while many enterprises are quickly adopting the same standard.

Juniper IDP Provides Improved Skype Awareness
The Juniper Security Research Lab released two new attack objects on March 1, 2006 that can assist users who wish to identify and block outgoing Skype connections.
Due to the Skype protocol's specific evasion techniques these attack objects can be very intensive on the inspection process; we recommend deploying these attack objects only on IDP sensors that monitor traffic for an outbound WAN link.
The 2 attack objects can be found in the VOIP/Internet Telephony Group under the Skype sub-group.

These signatures are available on IDP versions 3.0 and above, and ISG with IDP security modules.
